Anxiety

Let’s talk about ANXIETY.  Many of my clients struggle with this and I believe we all have had an anxious moment once or twice in our experience. The best approach to this disconcerting feeling is to have a plan, some tools that you have practiced and can implement even in a state of OVERload.

If you are someone who works with recurring anxiety you may or may not be on anti-depressants or some other pharmaceutical.  Don’t be too hard on yourself about your choices and DO include other things that are personally empowering as you ween yourself off of these with your Doctor’s guidance. DO listen to your own inner guidance as to what is best for you.

Often Anxious ‘attacks’ come on in cycles.  Just today we spoke about a 3 month recurring, shall we say, ‘heightened experience’.

My suggestions are as follows:

  1. Start your day by squatting, down as low as you can, hands on the floor in front of you.  Feel the floor of your pelvis open.  A little at a time is OK.  If you have had this anxious pattern for a while, it may take some getting used to to be able to OPEN and Relax this part of your body.  This is the physical part of you that allows you to FEEL SAFE !!!  Repeat out loud, 3 times.  ‘ I AM SAFE’  I AM Safe,  I am SAFE !’ ( if this posture is too hard at first, just sit on the floor with your legs spread as wide as you can, with hands on the floor in front of you.Squat*
  2. Choose a BEING of Light on the inner-planes.  Depending on your Spiritual lean it could be your personal Higher-Self, Christ, an Arch Angel, Guardian Angel or other Powerful symbol of inner knowing and divinity.  Creator God works well here.  The idea is to have a link with this inner knower so that in times of crisis, your knee jerk response is to go to this higher perspective and ask for help.  We can not receive assistance from the Divine Hierarchy if we do not ask.  We have free will.MotherGod*
  3. Check your thoughts. We will keep attracting what we keep thinking about.  It is a Universal Law.  We need to be vigilant and conscious of our THOUGHTS.  When we DWELL and Ruminate on things that are disturbing and usually out of our control, we create a mental environment of FEAR.  Anxiety is exacerbated FEAR.  We compound our own problems.  What should I do?  When you have a negative thought such as, ‘I am so uncomfortable when I ride in a car’ you trigger your body to tense up and RESPOND to this fearful thought.  CATCH YOURSELF !!!  REPHRASE your statement. ‘I trust my inner-guidance to keep me safe at all times.’  And don’t forget to say ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you for the support and assistance’.   Yes, you must work this, YOU are the only one talking in your head, so help yourself out.
  4. Practice slowing down your breathing and breathe from your belly.
  5. Learn to meditate.

I realize that all of these things take practice.  You will find that if you just begin, you will be feeling better before you know it. Don’t give up. YOU are worth it. It’s like training a new puppy, it takes a little time but the results are so worth it.

I hope you have enjoyed these suggestions and try them out. You only have this one life in this body so let’s make it the best it can be.
